After 30 years of racing in the DTM class, the upcoming 2018 season will be the very last for Mercedes-AMG. They’ve reached out and asked me to make a 2-minute short film capturing the anticipation. For a lot of people involved this is a highly emotional moment, doing for the last time, what some of these people did for the last 30-years. In February 2018, I flew to La Manga, Spain to meet the drivers and to be with them as they prepared themselves mentally and physically for the upcoming races and for what would lie ahead of them as a team. Two month later in April, I flew to the Hockenheimring race track in Germany where the first driving tests took place. This is where I met the entire team while the drivers, mechanics, and people involved trained and prepared for their very last season and their very last race.

I especially want to thank the team of Mercedes-AMG for giving me this immense amount of creative freedom.

“This is what it all comes down to.. The smell of burnt rubber, the roar of the engines and the countdown.. to the final race.”
